How to Get Discounts on Your Paris Apartment Rental

Believe it or not, there are actually a few ways to get sweet deals and discounts on your rental. Here are five (5) tips that will allow you to do just that!

1. Book during the low season or book early during the high season. If possible, book long-term.

When you book during the low season, the rates are often already discounted. Low season may be described as that time of the year when the demand for apartment rentals are low because not a lot of tourists are visiting Paris. Low season often starts in November until the first week of December. The second week of December and first week of January are considered high season, but by the second week of January, it is low season once again. Low season ends on the last week of March.

If you plan to book an apartment in June, try sending your reservation as early as February or March. The rates you will be quoted during the low season are often lower than the rates during the high season. Furthermore, booking early allows you to beat the apartment reservation rush.

Those who book long-term, for more than 3 weeks, tend to have better luck when asking for a discount. Paris apartment owners like long-term renters and they would be more than willing to give you a special rate.

2. Ask from the apartment rental company for a discount. If you are a new client, mention this to them and tell them that if they give you a good deal, you will recommend their company to your friends.

This is basically considered a courtesy sale-- first time clients, though not all, are often given discounts so they keep coming back to the same company. There is no guarantee that you may be given a discount but it wouldn’t hurt to ask.

3. Check Retailmenot.com and other sites for discounts.

Websites like Retail Me Not provide coupon and discount codes and many rental companies in Paris do utilize these coupon databases to share their promo codes. Check these websites often for discount codes; who knows, you might just find the right deal with these codes.

4. Subscribe to an apartment rental company’s email list to get news about their deals and discounts first.

Some companies tend to be discreet with their promos and discounts and they tend to mention any upcoming promo among their closest clients. The closest clients are apparently those who are in their mailing list. Make it a habit to sign up for the newsletter of your favorite apartment rental company so you get news about their discounts and promos, first.

5. Book from the same company all over again.

Repeat costumers are often given preferential treatment and if you book from the same company for three to ten times, the higher are your chances of getting a discount.
